About Paluwa Blog:
Paluwa Blog is a dynamic platform which strives to stimulate a culture of reading, critical thinking
and writing in the legal field. It aims at publishing intelligent, thought-provoking, well-written,
original and high quality posts, both in terms of presentation and argument that add value to legal
scholarship, that comply with the Guidelines set out on this page.
Submission Guidelines:
Theme: We do not have any specified theme, category of writing or
subject matter. We accept writings that add value, analytical reasoning or new idea to the legal
scholarship.
Authorship: The blog aims at being an egalitarian space and, thus,
welcomes submissions from students, early career researchers, policy-makers, academics, lawyers (bar,
bench and judicial services) and general public at large. Co-authorship of up to two authors is allowed.
Originality and Clarity: All works must be original, unpublished and
not being considered for publication elsewhere. Further, the blog must have clarity and technical
correctness.
Length: The standard word length is around 1500 words. This word limit
is exclusive of any footnotes. However, editorial board may exercise its discretion and accept longer
submissions.
Heading: Submissions shall have informative titles for the convenience
of readers. Authors are encouraged to use sub-headings in longer posts. Further, providing keywords is
advised.
Abstracts: Submitted blogs shall be accompanied by an abstract of
around three sentences.
Language Barrier: Submissions shall only be in either English or
Nepali.
Formatting Requirements: Submissions must be formatted in Times New
Roman, 12 pts for blogs in English, and Unicode Kalimati Font, 12 pts for blogs in Nepali.
Footnotes shall be in 10 pts font size. Spacing shall be 1.5 pts for main body and 1 pt for citations.
Citation: We prefer hyperlinks over notes. Bluebook (20th
edition) footnotes are also accepted.
Introduction: Contributors shall mention their short introduction,
including status and affiliation, in no more than three sentences, at the end of their blog submission.
They are also required to send their one clear and standard headshot image along with the blog
submission.
How to submit: All submissions are to be e-mailed at
paluwapleaders@gmail.com in MS Word (.doc or .docx) file format with the subject
titled ‘Submission for Paluwa Blog’.
Deadline: There is no submission deadline. The blog accepts
submissions on a rolling basis.
Important Notices:
- All submissions shall be subjected to plagiarism check and review by the editorial board. Plagiarism
in any form shall result in instant rejection of the submission.
- Upon acceptance of the submission for publication, cross-posting or publication on other platforms,
except sharing the blog post itself, is not permissible.
- Plagiarism and cross-posting may disqualify the contributor from being published in the blog for a
period of six months.
- Submissions may not be withdrawn after 48 hours of submission.
- The editorial board reserves exclusive right to make final decision on publication, including
acceptance, rejection or may even recommend changes before acceptance. If such decision is not
communicated in 2 weeks of submission, the submission should be deemed rejected.
